The Extron DTP3 T 211 is a long-distance, digital twisted pair transmitter for sending USB-C video with embedded audio, power, and bidirectional RS‑232 signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable. It provides one USB-C input and an HDMI loop-out for local monitoring. Up to 100 watts USB-C charging is available when deployed with the Extron UPI 100 Power Inserter. The transmitter supports video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 color sampling, EDID Minder®, and HDCP 2.3. For maximum image quality and minimal latency, all supported video resolutions are transported without compression. The compact enclosure size and remote power capability make the DTP3 T 211 ideal for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables, or wherever needed to meet application requirements.

The DTP3 T 211 enables the reliable, long distance transmission of USB-C DisplayPort alt-mode video supporting Deep Color up to 12‑bit, 3D, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. In addition, the DTP3 output can be configured to send video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS‑232 signals to an HDBaseT-enabled display. It is backward compatible with first-generation DTP-enabled products.

Convenient Power and Control

When connected to the Extron UPI 100 Power Inserter, the DTP3 T 211 can deliver up to 100 W over USB‑C to charge a laptop or other personal device. The transmitter can also be configured to provide power to the connected DTP3 receiver, or receive power over the DTP3 connection, allowing the single supply powering both devices to be located wherever it is most convenient for the installation.

Bidirectional RS-232 control signals can be transmitted alongside the video signal, facilitating remote operation of AV devices without the need for additional cabling. For added convenience, a USB-C configuration port on the front panel offers ready access to information and easy updating of firmware. Setup is made simple with Extron’s PCS - Product Configuration Software and its user-friendly GUI that is very easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited commissioning, real-time operation, and monitoring.

Features that Streamline Integration

To enhance and simplify integration of devices and to help ensure optimal system performance, the DTP3 T 211 features Extron EDID Minder, which automatically manages EDID by maintaining continuous communication with each source. The technology ensures that the sources power up properly and reliably output content for display.

Front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual confirmation of signal presence for the input, as well as power, HDCP status, and USB-C charging. On the back panel, LEDs indicate signal presence and link status for the output. An HDMI input loop-out provides an output signal to drive a local monitor.

The DTP3 T 211 transmitter is housed in a 1" (2.5 cm) high, quarter rack width metal enclosure. The low-profile design allows for discreet placement in tight spaces. To ensure optimal performance with DTP3 systems, Extron recommends XTP DTP 22 cables and accessories. These 22-gauge shielded twisted pair cables, shielded RJ‑45 plugs, jacks, and couplers have been engineered for optimum performance for DTP3 products running at 18 Gbps. Extron XTP DTP 22 cable bandwidth is verified to 500 MHz and utilizes a S/FTP design with four shielded 22 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braided shield for superior performance and noise immunity.
