Extron NetPA U 2008 FX (60-2027-01)
8 Channel Configurable Output Amplifier with Dante and DSP
200 Watts Per Channel at 4Ω or 8Ω; 70V or 100V
The Extron NetPA U 2008 FX is an eight channel, high performance Dante-enabled power amplifier with software configurable outputs that can simultaneously drive 8Ω, 4Ω, 70V, or 100V loads in multi-zone systems. For maximum flexibility, the total power of two adjacent 200 watt channels is shared, delivering up to 400 watts per single channel, according to system requirements. With its integrated DSP, the NetPA U 2008 FX includes essential signal processing for complex, decentralized systems while AES67 support ensures compatibility with other network audio devices. This Ecofficient Level 2 design features InstaWake, the ability to go from standby to full power in under 50 milliseconds. The fan cooled 1U enclosure does not require empty rack spaces for ventilation and includes front and rear rack mount hardware for stability.
Dante Audio Networking
Dante provides scalable audio transport, with Dante Domain Manager support, over a local area network using standard Internet protocols. The family of Dante-enabled products from Extron work together as part of a complete networked audio system solution and integrate with other Dante-enabled products to create efficient system designs. With AES67 support, NetPA Ultra FX amplifiers accommodate a range of audio routing needs in a variety of applications.
Setting up a network of Extron Dante-enabled products requires Dante Controller software. Dante Controller is used to easily assign outputs from a Dante-enabled device, such as an Extron DMP Plus Series processor, to inputs on a NetPA Ultra FX amplifier.
Mix Matrix with Audio DSP
A built in mix matrix allows any Analogue or Dante input to be routed to any amplifier output, Dante output, or Analogue line output. The Dante and Analogue line outputs are separate from the amplifier outputs for added flexibility. The mix matrix provides essential audio DSP functions such as gain adjustments, filters, dynamics, and delay.
Software Configurable Output Modes and Power Allocation
Each channel of the NetPA 2008 FX can be independently configured to drive an 8Ω, 4Ω, 70V, or 100V load, enabling this single power amplifier to support the requirements of an audio system with multiple types of speaker configurations.
The NetPA U 2008 FX expands its multizone functionality by allowing a single amplifier to be configured for multiple wattage outputs. A total of 400 watts per channel pair can be balanced between adjacent channels according to the power needs of each channel. Combined with its configurable output modes, a single NetPA U 2008 FX could accommodate a high power, stereo pair of low impedance speakers in addition to 4 - 6 zones of 70V or 100V speakers.
InstaWake
The NetPA U 2008 FX includes an auto power-down feature that places the amplifier into standby after 25 minutes of inactivity. When in standby, the NetPA U 2008 FX draws minimal power. It quickly comes out of standby upon detection of signal in under 50 milliseconds, fast enough to ensure that audio is not cut off. When coming out of standby, the NetPA U 2008 FX draws minimal inrush current, creating no sudden demand on power systems. For applications where the amplifier is required to remain active at all times, a NetPA Ultra FX amplifier provides the ability to defeat auto-standby.
Control and Remote Monitoring
The NetPA U 2008 FX integrates with control systems via an IP network or RS-232 for control of amplifier parameters as well as monitoring of the amplifier's status. Two digital input ports and two digital output ports are provided, so that the NetPA U 2008 FX can be programmed to sense and then respond to external triggers such as preset recall.
Dual LAN ports can be configured to separate control and Dante traffic by port or merged onto one port for single cable operation on a converged network.
Internal Web Interface
The internal web interface is accessed over the network connection by a standard web browser. It is used to define and export event logs and configure hardware parameters, including time/date and RS-232 settings.
Analogue Line Inputs and Outputs
Line inputs allow for connection of legacy Analogue equipment that is not equipped with Dante. The post DSP Analogue line outputs allow for connection of additional amplifiers, simplifying connection to the source while maintaining consistent processing. These line outputs have processing separate from the amp outputs to account for unique delay and level requirements.
Enables Space-Saving Installations
The fan-cooled NetPA U 2008 FX doesn't require empty rack spaces for cooling, allowing it to be installed in less rack space compared to competitive amplifiers. The cumulative effect of hundreds of precise design choices allows many NetPA U 2008 FX units to be placed in an equipment rack without the need to waste rack space for ventilation above the amplifiers.
Designed by Extron
Every circuit in a NetPA Ultra FX power amplifier is designed by our team of dedicated power amplifier engineers, ensuring that every Extron amplifier meets our high standards of excellence. By designing everything in-house, Extron engineers can meticulously optimize every detail for maximum performance, reliability, power efficiency, and reduced heat.
High Efficiency
A NetPA Ultra FX amplifier uses less electricity to generate the same amount of power. This has the direct benefit of lower electricity costs and less power infrastructure required.
Rock-Solid Reliability
Product reliability is a high priority at Extron and we go to great lengths to engineer products with industry-leading low failure rates, driven by rigorous testing of everything we ship. From the elimination of short-lived electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, to PCB designs that exclude the use of failure-prone wire harnesses, to accelerated burn-in testing, the NetPA U 2008 FX is engineered by Extron for many years of service.
