| Adding hyperlinks |
| You can add hyperlinks to your presentation by right clicking on an object, selecting Proiperties and setting Action to Go to URL then entering a valid web address. |

| Adding sound to clipart. |
| Open a blank slide. Click ClipArt and select a picture then place it on your slide. Now bring up the Group Properties dialog box by double clicking the clipart object. Select the Display Page First, Then Display Object option and leave the time set to the default of zero. In the dialog box, click the arrow beside the Action When Object Is Clicked list box and select Play Sound. When the Play Sound dialog box opens, locate the sound you want to use and double-click its icon. During your presentation, you can play the sound by clicking on the clipart. |

| Changing layouts. |
| You can change the layouts of the current document by clicking on Page Layouts at the bottom right of the screen. The Switch Page Layout will appear. You can now select the layouts you want and freelance will addict without altering your existing content. |

| Distorted bitmaps. |
| When you import bitmaps (BMP) files into Freelance, you may have noticed that they can get distorted. This is because you are attempting to import a bitmap that is larger than the slide and Freelance is scaling the image down to fit. Unfortunatley Freelance doesn't do a very good job of this so try re-sizing the image in an image editor before importing. |

| Global font changes. |
| You can alter the typeface throughout a presentation without changing the size or styles by selecting Presentation, Change Typeface Globally. |

| Making a group of images the same size. |
| Shift select (Left click the first the hold down Shift and select more) the images you want to resize. When you have selected all the drawings, choose Drawings, Object Size, Equal. |

| Running a presentation from the desktop. |
| First, create a shortcut to you presentation on the Desktop. To do this, use explorer to navigate to the folder where you store you presentations, right click and hold on the presentation file and drag it to the Desktop. Release the right button and select 'Create Shortcut(s) Now run Freelance and open the presentation. Choose Presentation, Set Up Screen Show, then Options on the dialog that appears. Click on the check box labelled 'Start screen show automatically when file is opened' then click OK. Close Freelance and double click the shortcut you created on your desktop. Your presentation will now run. |

| Spacing objects. |
| Shift select the obejcts you want to align then select Collection, Space. A dialog box appears allowing you to "Space vertically" or "Space Horizontally". The obejcts will be moved to equalize the space between them. |

| Straight lines. |
| Whilst drawing lines use the shift key to make sure the lines are straight. This tool works in 45 degree increments. |

| Text borders. |
| You can easily add a border around text you've already entered by right clicking the text, selecting Text Properties. Click then Colour And Line Style tab then select the Border style, width, shadow (if you want a shadow) and colour. Close the properties box and click your text again and the changes will be applied. |

| The problem with triangles..... |
| Using the Polygon tool to draw triangles can be difficult if you don't know the shortcuts. You'll find triangles where the lines don't meet at the corners and triangles with extra lines added. Freelance does give you a way around this. Draw the first line of your triange (the ends of your line will form the first two corners) and move to where you want to place the third corner. Double click and Freelance will draw the second and third line for you, so forming a triangle. |

| Using pictures for bullets. |
| Create your list and bullet it. Select the list and right click for text properties. When the dialog appear, select the bullets tab. You can select from a predefined set of bullets using the styles box or click Clipart to use an image from the clipart library. |

| Viewing clipart. |
| Freelance enables you to automatically shuffle through the clipart collection. Click the Clipart button and, when the dialog box appears, click the quadruple arrows near the bottom of the dialog. Freelance will start cycling through the clipart collection. To stop it, either click on an image you want or click Stop. |
